Social Media & Content Manager Job Description

The Company

Disentangle as a business entity operates in two different fields, one in the Creative Producing and Events sector and the second in the Activation of Spaces and Venue Management. In the future two separate companies will operate for each purpose respectively (Projects for the creative projects and Productions for the activation and spaces activities), but at the moment we will continue to operate under one brand: Disentangle Projects.

Current Position

The company hasn’t been engaging with audiences over the last months and a new social media policy needs to be set which will encompass all departments and cover all creative activities from R&D to final delivery of every project. 

In phase one we would like to set up accounts for all major media channels and increase the company’s followers base on all platforms, developing a stronger brand identity within the first 6 months. 

The SMC Manager will be then responsible for gathering interesting content from key stakeholders and create exciting new ‘stories’ which would be then programmed weekly for all major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube). The company’s website would need regular updates too (especially the News section), as well as collecting and inputting   guests’ sign up details for our future Newsletters via Mailchimp. 

The Role

The SMC Manager will work closely with the Directing team to create engaging content for the company's social media presence, including keeping social media channels updated and brand-focused, and seeking out new social media avenues and ways of connecting with audiences.


Job Duties:

  • To create marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including advertising budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules

  • To ensure brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working closely with the Directing team, including advertising, product development, and brand management

  • To research and monitor activity of company competitors

  • To manage company social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other relevant platforms

  • To engage in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms

  • To create dynamic written, graphic, and audio/video content

  • To optimise content following search engine optimisation (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC)

  • To create content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation

  • To assist the core team with large projects, events, and community management (e.g. Attic Arts Club project)

  • To work as part of a team to develop large social media campaigns

  • To analyse and report audience information and demographics, and success of existing social media projects on a regular basis

  • To propose new ideas and concepts for social media content

  • To write and distribute e-newsletters to subscribers

  • To manage social media communications

  • To use timelines and scheduled content to create a consistent stream of new content for audience interaction while analysing, managing, and altering schedules where necessary to optimise visits


Desirable Skills and Qualifications

Education: Marketing or Social Media Marketing Degree Preferred.

Essential skills: Technology Skills, Content Writing, Graphic Design, Basic Web Design Video and Photo editing, Campaign Execution, Teamwork, Self-Motivation, Strong Communication Skills, Networking, Idea Presentation, SEO and PPC, Proofreading, Strong Customer-Service Skills, Enthusiasm, Detail-Oriented, Collaboration.


Period of Engagement & Fee details

From June 2020 onwards with a review in October.  

June: 2 days of set up + 2 days content creation

July onwards: 2 days a month with extra days as required for specific projects

Fee: £100 per day
