We are launching our Emerging Writers Programme in Croydon!

Stanley Halls, in association with Disentangle Projects and Arts Council England present the Croydon Emerging Writers Programme, a free training initiative for writers looking to amplify their voice. Writers who have something they want to say but need the tools to be heard.

The 20-week Programme will be online and run by Jennifer Farmer who is a playwright, dramaturg and creative writing facilitator.  An Associate Lecturer at Goldsmiths and Central School of Speech and Drama and a facilitator for the National Theatre, she has delivered workshops for some of the UK’s leading arts and literary organisations.   Jennifer’s work focuses on amplifying under-represented voices and she has written for the Kiln, Birmingham Rep, Clean Break, BBC Radio, Paines Plough and the Belgrade Theatre.

The Programme will explore the specifics of writing for different forms (e.g live performance, the screen, poetry or prose),  with each writer developing a piece of work to be presented in an online festival in November.  The hope is that this  Programme will forge an ongoing relationship with writers, from any arts discipline, that will fill Stanley Halls with stories of today while also inspiring confidence for a new community network of creatives in South East London to present their own work locally, nationally and internationally.

If you are interested in applying you can respond to the following questions by writing up to 200 words to norman@disentangle.org
